Westwood is perhaps most well-known as being home to the University of California Los Angeles, UCLA. It is a commercial and residential neighborhood in the northern central portion of the Westside region of Los Angeles. There are many factors that draw people to this neighborhood, the main attraction being Westwood Village. This quaint village at the base of UCLA’s large campus boasts historic motion picture theaters, restaurants and shopping. Locals and tourists alike also visit The Westwood Village Memorial Park Cemetery and the Hammer Museum. Theatre-goers flock to Westwood to enjoy an evening at the critically acclaimed Geffen Playhouse. There are several elementary schools and one middle school in the neighborhood.
